Gill (pronounced "Jill") is an experienced Clinical Psychologist and the founder of Plus 1 Psychology.

I provide psychological support to adults navigating life’s complexities. With extensive experience in therapy and mental health care, I offer a warm, grounded, and evidence-based approach tailored to each individual.

My practice is particularly attuned to the needs of those facing post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and difficult family of origin dynamics. I also work with people struggling with binge eating that is based in shaming experiences growing up.

Whether you’re facing anxiety, depression, living with chronic pain, or undergoing a major life transition and seeking to reinvent yourself, my aim is to help you reconnect with a stronger, more integrated sense of self. I also have a special interest in dissociative disorders, and provide sensitive, trauma-informed care for those with dissociative symptoms or diagnoses.

My approach is respectful, collaborative, and committed to helping you make sense of your experience—supporting healing, growth, and the building of resilience.

I take an integrated approach to therapy, drawing from a range of evidence-based models to best meet your unique needs, goals, and life experiences. I believe therapy should be adaptable, and that different people—and different stages of healing—often call for different tools.

While I’m trained in several therapeutic modalities, the approaches I most often draw on include:

  • EMDR Therapy (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) – a structured, research-based method that helps resolve trauma and disturbing memories by activating the brain's natural healing processes.
  • Schema-Focused Therapy – an in-depth approach that helps identify and shift deeply rooted patterns developed in early life that continue to impact relationships, self-esteem, and emotional wellbeing.
  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) – a gentle and empowering model that helps you understand and work with the different “parts” of yourself, including those that may be protective or hold pain from the past.

This integrative foundation allows us to collaboratively tailor therapy to what feels most effective and relevant for you. Whether you are seeking to process trauma, better understand yourself, or create lasting change, I aim to offer a therapeutic space that is flexible, respectful, and deeply attuned to your experience.
